An independent film that shows how poverty and corruption affects the lives of many people, particularly to the family of Maximo Oliveros.
The story is set in the modern era in a squatters’ area. It revolves around Maxi, a happy and positive gay teenager who grew up with a family of 2 brothers and his father that accepts and loves him so much. They support him regardless of his gender and treat him as the only girl of the family since his mother died. However despite being a good father and brothers to Maxi, they are involved with illegal activities like snatching just to support Maxi and survive from poverty.

The
conflict arises between Maxi and his family when he met and became attracted to
a policeman named Victor. His father and brothers does not like Maxi
befriending Victor because first they don't trust him because he is a policeman whom they treat as an enemy,
second is that they don’t want Maxi to be hurt, and lastly they see Victor as
someone who will use Maxi just to bust them and their illegal activities to get a position.

The
protagonist of this movie is Maxi while the antagonist is poverty, a situation his
family is in. The poverty that hinders them to live a life the way they want. A life that will not require them to steal or do bad things. However they have no choice but to risk their lives just to have a life.

I
categorize the movie as Realism because it shows reality here in the
Philippines. The movie somewhat open the eyes of the viewers of what is currently happening in
our society and why such things happen. It makes the viewers understand what
really is wrong with our country and how poverty pushes people to do something
just to endure life.
